Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney's father, David "Chilli Bean" Morgan was arrested on attempted murder charges after he allegedly opened fire outside a bar in Rock Hill, South Carolina early Tuesday morning, according to police reports, via HeraldOnline.com.

Morgan, per the Rock Hill Police Department report, fired "several shots" at an employee of the Crazy Horse club after he was "removed from sitting on the stage." Per HeraldOnline.com, the victim alleged that he saw Morgan standing near a wall outside of the club at approximately 2:15 a.m. at which point Morgan fired at him. The victim then returned fire.

"Police found Morgan at Piedmont Medical Center with a gunshot wound in the shoulder, the report states. Morgan was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and will be in court for a bond hearing at 2 p.m. today, court officials said."

Two guns were reportedly recovered from the scene.

Morgan is no stranger to a jail cell, as he spent several years in prison while Clowney was rising through the football ranks as a teen in South Carolina. He was sentenced to 15-years in prison for convictions including burglary and other crimes in 1995, per HeraldOnline.com. His criminal record dates back to 1987.

Clowney is currently on the inactive list for the Texans. He underwent a microfracture procedure on his knee last season, which potentially could have put his once-promising NFL career in jeopardy. The team and head coach Bill O'Brien are hopeful that he'll return to the field by Aug. 17 and at that point, finally blossom into the player the team hoped he could be when they made him the first-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
