Jon Stewart kept his promise to return after Labor Day weekend. He was away for 12 weeks  from his popular "Daily Show"  directing his first movie.

It may not have seemed a long vacation but we sure did miss Jon Stewart on his "Daily Show." But we also cannot disregard John Oliver's incredible effort  in entertaining the audience and filling the void in Stewart's absence. Well, the leader of the show is back to amaze the viewers with his satire and wit.

The Tuesday's show kicked off with Stewart performing a skit with Oliver and Stephen Colbert. They tried bringing back Stewart to his own self after portraying that the Middle East had actually changed him. Back at his desk, the lively Stewart welcomed the audience and whispered to the camera up-close that he'd missed them.

"I've missed you so much. You don't know what it's like in the real world. Nobody applauds every stupid (expletive) thing that you do," he said to the audience.

Explaining about the lesson he learnt from his trip to Middle East, he said thankfully "I'm Western".  Oliver then quickly summed up the stories Stewart missed while he was away including Paula Deen, Anthony Weiner's alter ego "Carlos Danger" and Miley Cyrus' twerking in MTV Awards. Also, Stewart took the challenge of attempting to find comedy in the Syrian crisis. Well, it's Stewart as usual.

Stewart also played a tape of President Barack Obama urging military action against Syria, adding that "It's like I never left."

The conclusion of the show was on a serious note with an interview with Andrew Harper, head of the United Nations Refugee Agency in Jordan, talking about the growing number of people fleeing Syria, which has exceeded two million.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm on Comedy Central.
