PlayStation owners that subscribe to Sony's PlayStation Plus service have the benefit of receiving more than 60 "free" games a year (they're not entirely free; you lose access to them if you cease being a member). However, many players may have felt slighted in the past when they found that the "free" games offered each month either had little importance to them or were just flat-out bad.

Sony has offered a remedy to this problem, with the introduction of a new promotion called Vote to Play, according to techradar.

This new feature, which was unveiled on the PlayStation Blog by VP of Platforms Marketing John Koller, will let subscribers vote for a single game from a selection picked by Sony, according to The Verge.

The game that receives the highest amount of votes will be automatically included in a "future monthly games lineup," while other games that aren't chosen would be sold at a discount.

Various details about the promotion remain unknown and will be made known to the customers "soon."

"We'll have more details for you soon on when voting begins, what titles will be up for voting, and how you can cast your vote," Sony said in a statement, according to The Independent.

Sony did let customers know, however, that the feature will be available to both PS4 and PS3 owners and the vote won't be a monthly occurrence, instead taking place at regular intervals throughout the year.

While many users are excited about the promotion, many still worry that Sony may give them a poor selection of games to choose from.
