Charlize Theron has adopted her second child!

The 39-year-old Oscar winning actress is now a mom of two, Us Weekly confirmed. She adopted her new daughter, August, who is African-American, in July.

This news comes just a little over a month since Theron broke off her engagement to Sean Penn. The two had been friends for a long time and finally went public about their relationship at the end of 2013, but she cut it off after they attended the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

Theron already has a three-year-old son, Jackson, who she adopted in 2012. He is also African-American, according to E! News. The family currently lives in Los Angeles, and while Theron is very private about her personal life, she did open up to Ellen DeGeneres about the wait to bring Jackson home.

"My mom said the most beautiful thing. I'm going to cry," Theron said in the emotional interview. "She said...'It took me nine months to fall in love with you while you were growing in my stomach.' She's like, 'It took you two years to fall in love with this little baby.' It really took two years of just waiting and then one day it's finally here. It feels exactly how it's supposed to feel. I don't know how to describe it. It just feels right."

As for deciding to be a mother on her own terms, she's really enjoying it. "I do know that choosing to be a mom in my late 30s has been really great for me," she told W Magazine in April. "It's given me perspective."
