The Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the big winners of the offseason, as they retained DeAndre Jordan and revamped their bench big time. While they brought in new players to help bolster their bench like Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith, they might have left one of their former bench players with limited options.

Glen Davis was a big part of the Clippers bench last season and is still a free agent. The Clippers and Davis have reportedly kept in touch, and while they haven't reached a deal yet, both sides believe they will, according to Brad Turner of The Los Angeles Times

Davis' name has not been brought up much in offseason rumors, as it had been assumed all along that he was a lock to re-sign with the Clippers. While that still seems likely, it doesn't appear that he had much interest from other teams, which is a bit surprising. Davis is still only 29 years old and was a very good player for the Orlando Magic just a couple of years ago.

Davis was traded to the Clippers in the middle of the 2013-14 NBA season, and in 97 career games in Los Angeles, he has averaged 4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game.

If Davis were to come to a deal with the Clippers, he would likely be buried on the depth chart and see his minutes go down even further than they have been the past couple of years. Blake Griffin and Josh Smith are ahead of him at power forward, and Davis, at 6-foot-9, is likely too small and not a good enough rebounder to play center.

Davis did shoot 46 percent from the field last season and can provide energy and a solid mid-range jumper for some team, but he seems to want to go back to the Clippers, and they want him back as an insurance policy should they suffer any injuries to big men.
