BlackBerry Messenger is slowly expanding its horizon from the exclusive BlackBerry platform to Android, according to a new leaked video, which shows the app is in its testing phase.

Android users may be getting lucky soon as the much-rumored BlackBerry Messenger app may have finally made it to some of the beta testers' Android smartphones. The jump from testing to actual launch is not a very long one and the general public might soon get its hands on it.

From the looks of it, the BBM app on Android is similar to the one that runs on Blackberry 10 smartphones. A the moment the strongest competition for the app is  WhatsApp. Former BlackBerry phone users may be well aware of the functions and settings of the BBM app, but for those who are seeing it for the first time it might take a little longer to figure out. It won't be rocket science, but with regular use everyone can get a hang of it.

The leaked video leaked  by CrackBerry ( it has been now removed by the site on Blackberry's request), shows various functions on the Android BBM app. Users will land on the chats page once they launch the BBM app. A panel at the bottom allows users to switch screens between "Contacts" and "Groups." The left corner button will open a window panel with similar options as in the bottom panel and in addition displays "Updates" and "Invites." The right most button at the bottom panel will give access to settings, help and report problem. Users can start group chats and send invites to new BBM users from the left window. The app will also allow users to add a contact by using NFC (by tapping phones).

Another confirmation on BBM app's debut in Android platform came from a tweet by Samsung Mobile.
