Meizu has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the MX3, which has received major changes in terms of specs and design compared to its predecessor.

There is a new challenger in the smartphone market but sadly not everyone can get their hands on the new Meizu MX3.The Chinese electronics manufacturer has launched  its newest flagship smartphone integrating great style and performance

The new MX3 sports a 5.1-inch HD display with an odd resolution of 1800×1080 using 15:9 ratio instead of the normal 16:9, making it perfect for web browsing in portrait mode. Users of older model MX2 will be amazed to see the design of the company's new smartphone. Although, the MX3 features a metallic rim design like the MX2, it has sharp edges instead of curved ones.

Under the hood, the MX3 packs 2GB of RAM and offers units in 16GB and up to 128GB internal space. It runs on Android 4.2 based Flyme 3.0 OS platform, an update from its previous 2.0 version that debuted in MX2 last year. The customized operating system promises a user friendly interface. The MX3 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa processor.

Meizu introduced its Flyme operating system with the launch of its MX, first smartphone in the series, in January last year. An update was made with the launch of MX2 following it up with another update with its newest MX3. The MX2 was widely accepted in the Chinese market and sold more than 1 million pieces.

The new device features Sony 8-megapixel sensor to give extremely clear images. Despite its sleek 9.1mm thick frame, MX3 packs a 2,400 mAh battery. The smartphone boosts amazing sound quality with the help of high end Wolfson audio chip.

The Meizu MX3 16GB variant goes on sale for $410, while the high-end 128GB variant will sell for $650. The phone is expected to hit the Chinese market later this month, but there has been no information about the global availability.
