Football and chocolate go hand in hand, right? Well, professional sculptor Tim King seems to think so — he's creating a larger-than-life chocolate-covered statue of Peyton Manning!

The Longmont, Colo., artist, who has been sculpting for more than 15 years, told Denver's Fox 31 he is "super excited" about creating the highly detailed bust of the Broncos quarterback.

King — who has been working on the art piece, which weighs about 300 pounds, for more than 18 months — said he is paying tribute to Manning because he is "a team player and a great leader." The statue is "more about the 'man' in Manning than the game. So there's a lot of quotes, a lot of things from his family, different references to his education and his career," revealed King in a mid-July interview with Fox 31.

To get the statue as perfect as possible, King studied photos of Manning and watched videos of his NFL games, according to Fox 31. However, he did adjust the size to make it 30 percent larger than the football player.

The nonedible bust will be unveiled at ChoctoberFest, a festival celebrating all things chocolate, which will be held Sept. 19 at the Omni Interlocken in Broomfield, Colo.

King also hopes to create several bronze versions of the Manning statue. "It would be limited edition of five or less... That way it stays in the fine art realm," King told the Denver Post, adding the price tag would be about $55,000 each.
