A new Twitter leak is saying that the Moto X price will drop by $100 before the year ends, in time for the Christmas Sale.
EVleaks tweeted on Saturday.

Moto X price drop to $100 coming in Q4, along with wooden back configurations (for $50).
The price drop is said to be happening in all carriers—Verizon and AT&T—which has a current contract price of $199.99. Aside from the smartphone sale, EVleaks also mentioned about the wooden cases going on sale for $50 in four different colors.
If rumors are true, expect more people to have Moto X as a Christmas gift.
Moto X has not been that long in the market with it being released initially by AT&T and Rogers on Aug. 23 and yet to be released by Sprint and U.S Cellular in September.
The Moto X is the first Motorola smartphone to be manufactured in the U.S. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro System-on-chip, a single-core Natural Language Processor and a single-core Contextual Awareness Processor.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Motorola is spending $500 million for the promotion of the flagship smartphone. If the company is willing to spend all this cash to market the Moto X, it is quite odd that they are dropping the price soon after the launch.
However, Mobile Blorge believes that the decision for the price cut is Motorola’s move to boosting the sales of Moto X in the U.S market which can then improve the company’s end-of-year earnings report.
A comment in the Verge suggests that the Chicago-based company may have realized that $199 may be too high of a price to compete with popular smartphones which also have high-end specs.
Motorola has not released any comment yet about the price cut.
