New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz tore the patellar tendon in his right knee against the Philadelphia Eagles back in October. If you know your football injuries, you'll know that this is a notoriously difficult one to recover from. Internally, the Giants were worried that Cruz may never be the same player.

However, two days before training camp begins and just ten months after the injury, Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara is praising Cruz after watching him workout recently.

"I trained with Cruz for one day down in Arizona - and he just came in for a day because he was in town - and I'm telling you, this guy looked fab...I'm telling you," Cruz said via NJ.com. "Remember that I said this. This guy looks faster now than he did before. I was just looking at him and was like, 'Man, how is this possible?'"

Cruz is expected to be ready for the start of training camp and the Giants are hopeful that he and second-year player Odell Beckham Jr. can form one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL. If Amukamara is to be believed then that goal seems well within reach and that's good news for quarterback Eli Manning.

"It could be [he's faster] or it could be I haven't seen him run in a long time and he just looks crisp," Amukamara said. "But I keep telling him, 'Man, you look faster. You look faster' and stuff like that. He looks so good, so polished. He does not look like he's missed a step."

Cruz had more than 1,500 yards back in 2011 and notched 10 touchdowns in 2012. Beckham, meanwhile, lit the league on fire last year in his rookie season, hauling in 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games. If everyone is healthy and atop their game then the Giants will be a headache for opposing defenses.
