Anthony Davis, at the ripe young age of 22, is already considered one of the best players in the whole NBA after only three seasons. Davis does everything from scoring, to rebounding, to blocking shots but he still believes he has room to improve. Davis has reportedly been in the gym everyday working on things he feels he needs to improve according to John Reid of NOLA.com including defense and extending his range.

Davis led the league in blocked shots last season as he averaged 2.9 per game but he still believes he has room for improvement on that side of the ball. Aside from defense Davis has also reportedly been working hard on his post moves and extending his shooting range to beyond the three point line.

''Every day I am on the floor, I'm working 15 to 20 minutes on defense,' 'I'm working on everything and I think that's going to help us. I think it's definitely going to be beneficial to get the ball off the boards and just push it. Kind of like what Draymond (Green) did with Golden State. I'm trying to prepare what Coach Gentry needs,'' said Davis referring to new head coach Alvin Gentry's faster style of play.

Davis is excited about being able to play faster and his dedication to getting better is very noticeable. Davis has increased his output in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks every year he has been in the league along with his shooting percentage going up every year. Last season Davis averaged 24.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 54 percent from the field.

Davis finished last season fourth in the league in scoring average but he is far from content. In his three years Davis has only attempted 27 threes, making just three. Davis has said that he is working on his corner three to add another dimension to his game. The former Kentucky Wildcat already has a tremendous mid-range stroke so a transition into shooting corner threes shouldn't be too difficult for him. Don't expect him to start jacking up threes with regularity now it is just another skill he can potentially add to his repertoire for next season.

It is refreshing to hear that one of the best players in the NBA knows he has room to improve and that he is working hard at it. A lot of guys could just say that but Davis has the track record to prove it. If Davis can start hitting threes with regularity the NBA better watch out because he will be more unstoppable than he already was.
