Tim Tebow may have saved his future with the New England Patriots in Thursday night's preseason finale.  With the final roster cuts less than 24 hours away, a pair of touchdown passes may be enough to convince New England to keep three quarterbacks on its roster.

Tebow had his best performance of the preseason on Thursday against the New York Giants.  Sure, the Giants were resting its defensive starters.  Still, Tebow managed to complete 6-of-11 passes for 91 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Tebow made his strongest case yet for a roster spot, but even he is uncertain if it'll be enough to keep him on the team.

"I'm not sure.  I don't make those decisions," Tebow told ESPN after the game.  "... I'm blessed because of my faith that I don't have to worry about the future because I know who holds my future.  A lot of times people use that as a cliché, but it's something I try to live by.  It really gives you a lot of peace in whatever circumstance you're in."

The Patriots have kept only two quarterbacks on its roster for three of the last four years, according to ESPN.  Regardless of how Tebow performed on Thursday, the Patriots appeared likely to keep him on the team.

Coach Bill Belichick and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels introduced read-option plays tailored to Tebow's skill set throughout the preseason, which suggests they took time to create new plays just for Tebow.  If that's the case, it's unlikely the Patriots intend to discard their reformation project of the much-maligned quarterback.

Although it's ultimately Belichick's decision, Tebow at least has the support of Patriots owner Robert Kraft.  Tebow also survived Friday's batch of cuts that sent 10 players packing, according to USA Today Sports.

Belichick has said the coaching staff is continuing to evaluate players, and they will continue to until Saturday at 6 p.m., when the final roster must be submitted to the NFL.
