Sherri Shepherd is reportedly close to signing a deal to return to "The View" for its upcoming 19th season, which will see her appear in 50 episodes.

Adding Shepherd to the line-up for the new season is part of the plan to boost the daytime talk show's floundering ratings ever since the show's co-creator Barbara Walters stepped down before the start of the 18th season, according to Deadline.

Shepherd originally left the show in August last year alongside Walters and Jenny McCarthy and since then she has made her Broadway debut in "Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella," did a standup tour and starred in TV Land's sitcom, "The Soul Man," according to the New York Daily News.

Fomer "Full House" star Candace Cameron Bure and "Good Morning America" anchor Paula Faris are reportedly set to join veteran co-host Whoopi Goldberg and recent additions, former Disney star Raven-Symone and comedian Michelle Collins for the show's upcoming season, HNGN previously reported.
