The Indiana Pacers have reportedly signed Glenn Robinson III to a deal and he is now the 15th player under contract, according to Nat Newell of the Indy Star. The Pacers can still bring more than 15 people to training camp, but 15 is the maximum amount of players per roster heading into the regular season.

Robinson was a free agent after splitting last season between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Minnesota Timberwolves where he averaged 2.1 points per game in 35 games as a rookie. Robinson was waived by the Timberwolves mid-season, and the 76ers didn't extend him a qualifying offer, which made him a free agent.  Robinson is still only 21 years old and has a lot of potential and athleticism.

The Pacers reportedly signed him as they will look to play faster this season and are looking for players with more versatility. Robinson's deal is reportedly for three years and he is excited to play at home.

"Can't wait to continue my journey in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers, couldn't be more excited to play at home!! #OverlyDedicated," Robinson tweeted.

Robinson is unlikely to get much playing time next season as there are plenty of wing players on the Pacers roster, including Monta Ellis, Paul George and Rodney Stucky among others. The signing was reportedly a bit strange for the 15th player, as the Pacers still only have one player on the roster that plays point guard in George Hill. They can still bring in point guards on non-guaranteed contracts for training camp and see if they are impressive, but if not, Ellis and Stuckey will likely be the backup point guards.

Robinson played two years at the University of Michigan and was solid in his sophomore season when he averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Robinson has always had a lot of potential, as he was the number 23 recruit in the 2012 class, but he never really has been able to live up to his potential, at least not yet. He's still extremely young, and although he isn't a lock to make the Pacers he has a chance to show what he can do in his hometown with a little bit of extra motivation.
