It has been confirmed that the fifth and current season of Comedy Central's "Key & Peele," which stars comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, will be its last.

Key reveals that both stars simply want to move on and pursue other ventures for the time being.

"I compare it to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. We might make a movie and then do our own thing for three years and then come back and do another movie," he told The Wrap in an interview last week. "I'm thinking we could do that every three years - take a year, go bang out a movie. That's the plan right now."

All episodes of the Comedy Central series, which received multiple nominations for this year's Emmys earlier this month, have been filmed and will air until September, according to The Wrap.

Key and Peele first starred together on six seasons of "MadTV." They co-created "Key and Peele" and have starred together side by side since 2012, according to CNN.
