Chris Christie shut down a gun rights activist who doubted his record on Second Amendment issues at an Iowa rally on Saturday, exhibiting the fiery and confrontational style the GOP candidate is known for, according to CNN.

Christie refuted every claim the Iowa Gun Owners organization member made, and, at times, even raised his voice. "I'm still waiting for one fact from you, one fact about me being anti-gun," Christie scolded the man. "Give me one. One fact. Got one?"

"Come up with one fact that shows one thing I've done as governor in New Jersey that's done anything, anything not to support the rights of legal gun owners," Christie said as his statement was met with a roar of applause from the audience at the Des Moines Area Community College. "Don't come in front of this group of people and lie about my record, which is what you did," The Huffington Post reported.

The man questioned Christie's proposal for a statewide gun-owner identification program. "By the way, I vetoed the ID system," Christie responded to the heckler. "You're wrong about that too."

"If you want debate me, run for president, get in the top 10 and come to Fox in Cleveland on Aug. 6 and I'd be happy to debate you," Christie added.

The voter then asked whether Christie intended to pardon Brian Fletcher, a North Carolina man who is facing prison time after he told a New Jersey police officer that he was carrying a gun in his vehicle, which is the customary and legal way to go about it in his home state.

Christie answered saying he had not yet decided, but is reviewing the situation. "I'm not going to make that decision in 15 minutes nor should I. Nor should you want me to," Christie said. "I see you shrugging your shoulders, why are you shrugging your shoulders about? You have your point of view, but have some facts about it."

The heated exchange lasted approximately five minutes, as the man brought up an advertisement that aired back in 1995, showing Christie criticizing his opponent over his choice to revoke the assault weapons ban in New Jersey. Christie pointed out that his views have changed over the course of time

"If you haven't changed your mind once in 20 years on any issue, then I'll tell you, you're not a thinking, breathing, living human being," Christie said as the crowd applauded.

After the event, Christie said he wouldn't allow anyone with an outside agenda to come to his event and mischaracterize his record, the Des Moines Register reported.
