Liza Minnelli returned to the stage for the first time in more than a year following back surgery last September and a rehab stint for substance abuse this past spring.

Minnelli performed at the IP Casino Resort and Spa in Biloxi, Mississippi on Friday with her longtime musical director Billy Stritch as her opening act.

"There's no performer like Liza," Stritch said, according to People. "It's so great to be back on the road with her. Every night onstage with her is a thrill."

The 69-year-old Minnelli opened her set with George and Ira Gershwin-penned "Our Love Is Here to Stay." She also filled her set with many of her most popular songs including "Maybe This Time," "Cabaret" and "New York, New York."

"I feel like I'm home, with my family," the EGOT winner told the crowd and admitted she was a little "nervous," according to GulfLive.com.

Minnelli gave a stirring 75-minute performance including an encore performance of Cole Porter's "Every Time We Say Goodbye" accompanied only by Stritch on piano.

The daughter of actress Judy Garland and director Vincent Minnelli checked into an undisclosed rehab center in Malibu, Calif. for alcohol abuse treatment in March. She had previously checked into treatment centers for alcohol and prescription drugs abuse.

"Liza Minnelli has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so. She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility," Scott Gorenstein, a spokesperson for Minnelli, said in a statement in March.
