The Cleveland Cavaliers are still waiting to find out if J.R. Smith is going to re-sign after opting out of his contract earlier this offseason. Smith would be the shooting guard the Cavs have been looking for all offseason and would give Cleveland a bevy of shooters on the wings. Besides Smith, the Cavaliers already have James Jones, Joe Harris, Iman Shumpert, Richard Jefferson and Mike Miller. If Smith re-signs, Cleveland will have a bit of an overload on wing shooters, and because of that, Miller might be on the trading block according to Terry Pluto of Cleveland.com.

Earlier this offseason, Miller opted into his $2.8 million player option, which was a wise decision on his part because he wouldn't have gotten that money anywhere else, as he is coming off a really down year. Miller shot 33 percent from the field last season and 33 percent from three as well, and when he isn't hitting shots, he isn't of much use.

Pluto reports that it wouldn't be a surprise to see Miller traded alongside Brendan Haywood in a deal, as the Cavaliers are fully expecting to trade Haywood within the next week. Miller has reportedly become expendable after the Cavaliers re-signed Jones and brought in the veteran Jefferson. At this point in their careers, Jones, Miller, and Jefferson are all spot up shooters, and Miller is the one coming off the worst year.

Besides not shooting the ball well last season, Miller also reportedly looked like he got old really fast. The Cavaliers coaching staff reportedly lost a lot of confidence in him because he wasn't very mobile and couldn't defend at all. The Cavaliers would be able to live with Millers lack of defense if his shooting stroke hadn't completely faded, but it seems to them like it has.

If Miller were to be added to a deal with Haywood, he would also likely be released immediately after the trade by whichever team acquires him. At that point, it would be fair to question whether Millers career was coming to a close.

Whether Miller is traded or not, it appears that his best case scenario would be to sit at the end of the bench for the Cavaliers for this upcoming season, as he is way down on the depth chart. Millers three point percentage went from 45 percent in 2013-14 to 33 percent in 2014-15, and that is likely a sign that his career is on its last legs.
