Three baby hedgehogs were abandoned by their mother immediately after birth and were left alone for 24 hours before they were rescued by the Wildlife Aid Foundation in Leatherhead, U.K.

The resilient hoglets were treated and hand-reared in the rescue center. They are already starting to get back on their feet. As a matter of fact, one of them let out an adorable sneeze!

A YouTube video posted by Wildlife Aid shows how the two males and one female baby hedgehogs were raised. The babies were stretching, scratching, walking around, getting fed and sneezing! The little ones were indeed sneezing basically by gentle squeaks.

The keeper also brushed the hedgehogs with nail polish to distinguish them. Wildlife Aid said in a comment on the video that they had been using "nail polish for 34 years, to tell the babies apart."

"For hedgehogs, we only paint the spines, which are made of keratine, like our nails and hair," the organization added. "The fumes go away quickly and the polish dries quickly, too. So, it doesn't hurt them at all."
