Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

One legitimate criticism of the original "Star Wars" trilogy could be the lack of real dramatic stakes. Outside of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the good guys don't really lose too many meaningful characters. Sure, a few no name X-Wing pilots get blown to smithereens (pour one out for Rogue Squadron), a handful of Bothans dies on an intelligence recon mission and Yoda passes away peacefully. But outside of that, it's pretty much smooth sailing.

J.J. Abrams' upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" may change all of that.

A while back, a rumor was being floated that Harrison Ford's Han Solo may become a casualty of this new conflict. While that still remains possible, another name has been added to the list of potential character deaths as well.

Epicstream reports:

"He watched a scene being shot at Greenham common airbase in which Leia is sad and says, 'I don't know how he will cope without him,' my source told me Han Solo dies, I quizzed him and he said he just presumed, I then asked who was she talking to, he said a couple of wookies but not Chewy, I asked him could you have meant that Chewy dies, he said that might have been the case, he didn't know just that one of them does."

Remember, this is all unconfirmed at the moment. But enough talk has swirled around "The Force Awakens" to expect at least one major character to "become one with the Force."

The previous rumors suggested Han is killed by Adam Driver's Kylo Ren (who may or may not be his son) in a moment of self-sacrifice similar to Obi-Wan in "A New Hope." Could the truth be that Chewy is the one who actually sacrifices himself to save his friends? Both? Neither?

We won't know for sure until "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits theaters on December 18.
