Researchers from the University of Zurich conducted a study that reveals what women consider a "good-looking" penis.

Rounding up 105 women between the ages of 16 to 45, female participants were asked to rank "eight penile aspects," the researchers provided. It ranged from length, to girth and even the appearance of the scrotum.

The results revealed that for many women, it's not the size that matters most, as "general cosmetic appearance" was ranked the highest. Next, the women ranked pubic hair appearance at the number two spot, while penile skin, girth, shape, length, and the scrotum's appearance followed accordingly. The shape of the urethra was ranked last.

The researchers also asked the women to compare photos of circumcised penises and penises that underwent a surgical procedure for hypospadias, a congenital condition where the urethra's opening is found on the penis' underside, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The women were not told which of the photos showed the surgical treatment, but they were asked to rate which penises they think looked "normal."

Majority of the women picked the penises with the hypospadias surgery as normal-looking.

The study was apparently inspired by men who have had the procedure done and who were self-conscious about their penises' appearance, according to New York Magazine.

The researchers, however said, there "is no single penile aspect that is essential" for a penis to be "perfect," according to the Independent.

"The information may help prevent the development of shame or impaired genital perceptions about penile appearance," said Norma Ruppen, the study's lead author, according to Eureka Alert.

The study was published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.
