Coming off the news that it will be dropping the price of its flagship gaming console, the Wii U, by $50, Nintendo has unveiled the release date details for its upcoming fall lineup of games announced at this year's E3 2013 gaming conference.

The following games will be available in North America before the end of 2013. The list is provided via IGN.

-The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD - September 20 (Digital)

-The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD - October 4 (Physical)

-Wii Party U - October 25 (with Wii Remote Plus for $49.99)

-Super Mario 3D World - November 22 ($59.99)

-Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - December 6 ($49.99)

-Wii Fit U - Holiday 2013

-Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games - Holiday 2013

One thing that IGN makes a point of noting is that "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD" was previously slated for an October 4 release date. Now it will be available two weeks earlier for fans who purchased it via the Wii U eShop. Both versions of the game will cost $49.99. However, GameStop will exclusively offer a version including a Ganondorf figuring, boosting the price to $54.99.

Meanwhile, Nintendo also re-confirmed the following list of upcoming third-party game titles that will be available for the console this fall, just in time for the holiday season.

-Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure - September 24

-LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - Fall

-Skylanders SWAP Force - October 13

-Call of Duty: Ghosts - November 5

-Sonic Lost World - October 22

-Rayman Legends - September 3

-Just Dance 2014 - October 8

-Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - October 29

-Watch Dogs - November 19

The hope from the Japan-based company, is that the release of all these new titles before the holiday shopping season will help it compete with the release of next-gen competitors the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. After all, for those who already own a Wii, they can spend the money on a new console or simply spend the money on a slew of new games to play while waiting to ring in the new year.
