The Cleveland Cavaliers seem convinced that they would have won the NBA Championship last season if they were fully healthy. For that reason, they are trying to bring the whole team from last year back and go for it all again, but this time they will hopefully have a healthy Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. News came out this past weekend that the Cavaliers were unhappy with J.R Smith for opting out but he's still likely to be back. James Jones is also reportedly going to be back with the Cavs next season, according to Cleveland.com.

Jones spoke at the red carpet for the first Players' Award show and said he will definitely be back and that he has committed himself to winning in Cleveland.

"I've made it well known last year when I told them I was coming to help change the culture and do something special. It wasn't a situation where I was looking for a platform to move on. I was looking to be a part of something, to build something. And so I'm still in," said Jones.

Nothing is official yet, but the reported contract is for the league minimum of $1.5 million. He will count as less than one million against the cap. By signing Jones to a minimum deal the Cavs will also have to pay an extra $3 million for going over the luxury tax.

Jones will turn 35 next season and is coming off a campaign where he didn't get much playing time. He was in and out of coach David Blatt's rotation and was never given consistent minutes to find his shooting touch. Jones got more minutes in the playoffs but he wasn't very effective, making only 35 percent of his shots from the field.

While Jones' field goal percentage was down last year in both the regular season and playoffs, he is on an NBA roster to shoot the long ball. For both his regular season and playoff career Jones shoots 40 percent from three and is considered one of the best pure shooters in the league. He has never been a player that plays big minutes or scores a lot of points, but he can help spread the floor and knock down threes with consistency.

It will be interesting to see how much playing time Jones will get with the Cavs next season once the deal is made official. Three point shooting is certainly a valuable asset but Jones doesn't do much of anything else, so his minutes will likely either be similar to last season or even lower.
