Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been released on bail a day after he was arrested in New Zealand for violating the rules of his house arrest. "He's been arrested and bailed on one charge of breaching his home detention. It's been remanded without plea," Craig Tuck, Rudd's lawyer, told CNN.

Rudd will appear in court to enter a plea on Aug. 3 as well as undergo drug and alcohol testing.

The 61-year-old rock legend was arrested on Saturday night, less than two weeks after he evaded serving prison time in relation to a murder-for-hire plot, according to the New York Daily News.

Rudd was sentenced to eight months of house arrest on July 9 after he pleaded guilty to threatening to murder his former personal assistant and charges on possession of drugs before the Tauranga district court.

Rudd first joined AC/DC in 1975 until 1983, but eventually returned to the band 11 years later. His position in the band seems tenuous at the moment as has been replaced Chris Slade on the band's "Rock or Bust" tour, according to Agence France-Presse.
