Safari guide Mark Sheridan Johnson captured a lucky moment for a stork that stuck its head in a hungry crocodile's jaw to retrieve its food, Daily Mail reported.

While fishing in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania, the yellow-billed bird spotted a tiger fish floating in the water, but as it tried to pick it up using its beak, a four-meter long reptile suddenly appeared in the shallows.

First glance at the photo will make you think that the stork was caught up on the crocodile's jaw. Luckily, the crocodile held its jaw until the stork's head was out.

The 35-year-old Johnson said: "I noticed the stork was playing with something in the water, it turned out to be the head of a tiger fish. While playing with the fish head the stork attracted the attention of a young crocodile, who came swimming in at speed to steal the bird's dinner."

"Once the croc had the fish, the stork realized the battle was lost, so decided to carry on fishing near the crocodile."

According to Johnson, storks commonly hunt for fish near the crocodiles. Storks mainly eat small fish and swallow them whole.

"They know that as the croc moves along the shoreline of the lake, it will scare fish away from it, which the stork will catch."

He also added that the storks and crocodile usually live in harmony, with some exceptions, Yahoo News reported.
