"50 Shades of Grey" fans might not have much longer to wait before official casting news is announced. According to The Stir, casting news for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele is expected to be announced after Labor Day.

It's not clear where The Stir got this information but it's definitely exciting. Fans have waited a very long time to find out who will be portraying the kinky billionaire on the big screen opposite the brown-haired actress cast as Steele.

There have been hundreds of rumors surrounding who will land the coveted spots. Actors like Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill have remained as strong contenders. Ian Somerhalder was also a rumored frontman until US Weekly broke the news that E.L. James wasn't going to consider him for the part.

The celebrity magazine also broke the news that Garrett Hedlund was reportedly offered the role but turned it down due to scheduling conflicts. Other actors have crept up as the leads as well. Just recently it was being reported by Twitch that "Pacific Rim" star Charlie Hunnam was a strong possibility by the producers but Variety denied the rumors were true.

According to their sources, no official casting decision has been made but the source did admit that Hunnam's name was on the list of possibilities. As far as Steele, Alexis Bledel, Lucy Hale and Emilia Clarke have remained as fan-favorites but other names have crept up like Dakota Johnson who was rumored as a "a serious contender" to play the college student.

Dana Brunetti recently did an interview with Blog Talk Radio and he gave some details about "Fifty Shades" casting.  He said that he didn't want to talk about casting news despite all the chatter but did say that "Team 50" is currently casting the lead actors.

Brunetti said that the movie is actually moving pretty fast and one of the things that is taking official casting news a little longer is "chemistry tests." Brunetti explained that it is extremely important that Grey and Steele have excellent chemistry or the movie will be a flop.

As far as the movie falling behind, he revealed that the original release date of August 1, 2014 is still a go and the team is moving as fast as they can.

The only thing to do now is to enjoy the wait, trust "Team 50" and continue the buzz about which leading actors and actresses will end up in the Red Room of Pain.
