Paris Jackson is making progress in treatment following her suicide attempt in June, according to grandmother Katherine Jackson.

Speaking out for the first time since her granddaughter was hospitalized, the 83-year-old matriarch said Paris "is in a good place" and is "getting the help she needs," according to E! Online.

The 15-year-old has been hospitalized since June 5, reportedly after struggling with the loss of her father.

Not all Jackson family members are content with her long stay in treatment -- her uncle, Randy Jackson, tweeted last week that his niece was away for "much too long." Despite it all, Katherine maintains that treatment is successful.

"She's my baby," she said. "It's hard for me, really hard. All I wanted these kids to be is happy.

"They were sheltered a lot when Michael raised them. I had thought about it and I said 'I am not going to raise them like that. But Michael had a good reason," she said. "He was trying to protect them...He instilled good manners but it's a different generation, of course, and I don't understand the whole social media thing. They are always on their phones."

Paris' biological mother, Debbie Rowe, tweeted thanks on her daughters behalf to all of her fans.

"My daughter has asked that I extend a huge thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers and support. She is strong like her father," Rowe wrote.

Earlier this month, Rowe testified in court in a trial between Katherine and AEG Live, expressing how much her daughter has suffered.

"She tried to kill herself," she said on the witness stand. "She is devastated. She has no life. She doesn't feel she has a life anymore."
