JJ Lane, one of stars from this season of ABC's "The Bachelorette," was beaten in a gang brawl this weekend, TMZ reported. 

The reality show contestant was leaving the after party for the show's "Men Tell All" taping with a crew member when they both were jumped by a gang of about five men, according to production sources. The fight escalated quickly, and one of the crew members ran to get hunky "Bachelorette" contestant Ben Zorn, who broke up the fight.

After the brawl, Lane was taken to the emergency room because his friends thought he might have a concussion. He suffered two black eyes and a torn suit, but neither he nor production called the cops to press charges.

Lane posted a photo of his injuries and explained the situation via social media, E! News reported.

"I stood up for a friend on Saturday and [sic] rec'd 2 black eyes for my effort," Lane tweeted after the altercation. "I did however leave 4 of them hurt and running away. #Facts"

"Wrong place and wrong time," he continued. "It was an unfortunate situation and I'm thankful it wasn't worse for myself or my friends."

The contestant was vying for the love of Kaitlyn Bristowe on this season of the matchmaking reality series. Lane was booted off four weeks ago but will make an appearance at the reunion special.
