A leopard in Central Kenya's Lake Nakuru National Park, who had been put in a cage after making farm animals its prey, almost took a ranger's life in a vicious attack. The spotted animal would have made the man his lunch if not for the ranger's courageous kick.

The wildlife official had been attempting to assist his fellow colleagues in nudging the massive mammal out of its cage and into the park's open land, which is full of untamed animal prey, when the agitated leopard turned on him.

"I was terrified," unfortunate victim Alexander Rono said in segment on Animal Planet's show Untamed and Uncut. "It hurt me pretty bad. Look at my head, it's cracked. It's ripped apart – almost made me blind."

Rono also told the show that he will always remember his violent experience with one of the biggest beasts in the safari.

"I learned a very painful lesson. I will never forget," Rono said emphatically.

"I thank god that he is alive today," said one of Rono's colleagues.

Lake Nakuru spans 250 miles according to Wildlife Extra.
