Actor Simon Pegg ("Shaun of the Dead", "Star Trek Into Darkness") let it slip back in May that he and Daniel Craig, who most of you know as the current James Bond, would be playing some extras in the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Why would 007 ever do that? Apparently, it is because he is such a huge "Star Wars" fan. But perhaps that's not the case at all.

Speaking with EW recently, Craig shot down the rumor in a very strongly worded manner.

"Why would I ever both doing something like that?" Craig said. "F---ing hell! Pfft. Play an extra in another movie?"

Right away, one would naturally get the impression that Craig was genuinely bothered by the rumors. But his further harsh tone painted his comments in a bit more or a sarcastic shade.

"Talk to Simon Pegg. He obviously knows way more than I do," Craig said. "He's just jealous because he's not in Star Wars. He's got some issue with J.J. I don't know what the f--- it is. You need to talk to Simon about it."

Okay, so either Craig really is this crabby about the issue or he and Pegg are familiar with one another and are just joking around. I mean, he is James Bond so it's not as if he needs to be an extra, but who wouldn't want to be in a "Star Wars" movie?

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits theaters on December 18.
