Professional tennis player Serena Williams is known for the hits she makes on court, but it was her fashion sense that was the biggest hit at the Wimbledon Champions dinner on Sunday night, E! News reports. The 33-year-old tennis queen silenced her body-shamers as she showed off her curves in a stunning evening gown.

She absolutely glowed in the white dress which had beading and sparkling embellishments on the sleeveless bodice and showed off her amazingly toned arms. The skirt of the dress hugged her curves at the hip before the silk fabric pulled away at the knee, fluttering down to the floor. Williams showed off the dress' flowy train as she daintily held it open on both sides.

Her appearance comes after the champ received hateful comments about her athletic physique from body-shaming Twitter trolls, as previously reported by HNGN. "Harry Potter" author JK Rowling spoke out in defense of the tennis star. One Twitter user said Williams was "built like a man," and Rowling fired back at him with a photo of Williams looking hot in a tight red dress.

"Yeah, my husband looks just like this in a dress," she wrote. "You're an idiot."

The female tennis player body type has been a topic of discussion, especially after a New York Times article sparked controversy over the weekend. In it, female tennis players discuss how difficult it is to come to terms with their build which helps them perform better as athletes but isn't what most consider a "feminine" shape. Williams said it's something she struggled with early on in her career as well.

"But then I realized that you really have to learn to accept who you are and love who you are," Williams told the New York Times. "I'm really happy with my body type, and I'm really proud of it."

And she only had one word for her haters on Sunday night. She uploaded a side-by-side of herself in the gown to her Instagram with the caption, "Swerve."
