Comedian Michelle Collins is officially joining the "The View" as a permanent co-host next season, according to Entertainment Weekly. Collins will sit at the roundtable in place of Rosie Perez, who is to leaving at the end of this season.

"We've had so much fun hanging out with this young lady that we've asked her to become our 15th co-host," Whoopi Goldberg said as she introduced Collins on Monday's show.

"I am so excited and I feel so lucky that I get to come here and spend this time with you," Collins said to her future co-hosts.

The comedian will officially start in September when The View returns for season 19. She will make regular appearances until the show breaks for hiatus in August.

Recently, Collins has been featured on VH1's "Walk Of Shame Shuttle." She has also served as a host on the syndicated talk show "The Gossip Queens" as well as a daily correspondent on VH1's "Big Morning Buzz Live." Collins made frequent appearances on "Chelsea Lately," "Today," "The Wendy Williams Show" and "The Tyra Banks Show." She also wrote and appeared on "Kathy," according to Deadline.
