Demi Lovato clarified that she in fact did not throw shade at fellow pop star Ariana Grande during her performance at the 2015 MLB All-Star Game concert, Billboard reported.

"Didn't get to sing Made in the USA on the 4th because I was singing #COOLFORTHESUMMER. No shade - stop the bull****," Lovato tweeted after the mix up.

During her performance, Lovato played her song "Made In The USA" for her fans, according to Billboard. Before the track started, she asked her fans ""How many of you guys are proud to be an American?," a question that many fans thought was a direct reference to Grande's recent scandal.

Lovato took over Grande's spot at the event after Grande was forced to pull out last week after footage was leaked from her July 4 visit to a California donut shop. The video showed the former Nickelodeon star licking donuts, kissing her backup dancer and saying "I hate America" and "I hate Americans," as previously reported by HNGN.

Grande quickly apologized, twice, and also was forced to back out of her performance during the MLB All-Star concert. She claimed it had nothing to do with the aforementioned footage; instead she said that it was because she was still recovering from wisdom teeth surgery.

This left Lovato as the first choice to replace her and she was more than happy to perform, especially since the appearance is hot on the heels of the release of her latest single "Cool For The Summer."

But she was quick to dispel rumors that there was bad blood between the two pop stars and used her Twitter page to address it.

"ALSO - I ALWAYS ask that when I sing that song. Can't yall let a girl shine for one night? Smh," Lovato tweeted.
