Model Elle MacPherson is still dominating the fashion game and is not afraid to show it - especially in a bikini at 51. The supermodel took Monte Carlo, Monaco by storm in a sexy two-piece bikini on Saturday, according to The Daily Mail. She has also worn the trendy attire on many other occassions.

The star credits her recent start of the alkaline diet, or eating foods that have a lot of the chemical compound, as the reason for her success.

"I noticed changes in just two weeks,"  MacPherson told Examiner.com. "I stopped craving sugar, my mood stabilized, everything became more balanced. A welcome byproduct was losing weight around my middle."

Regardless of how much of the element may or may not be good for the body, Dr. Caroline Cedarquist, a medical professional that focuses on nurtrition, told People.com that healthy foods can never hurt one's daily nutrient intake.

"I think all nutritional experts are in real agreement that almost everyone needs more fruits and vegetables in their diet," Cedarquist told the publication.

"This whole alkaline cleanse is coming from the theory that certain foods make the body more acidic and others make the body more alkaline, on the opposite spectrum," Cederquist told the website."Typically, protein-containing foods and starches and grains are supposed to add acid to the body, and maybe so do caffeine, alcohol and processed foods in general."
