Despite being one of the better relief pitchers in the game when he is fully healthy Los Angeles Dodger reliever Brian Wilson will always be known more for his outlandish personality and the massive, unkempt, black beard on his face.

Wilson is just coming back from Tommy John surgery that had him miss almost the entire 2012 season when he was a member of the San Francisco Giants and still trying to get the feel of being back in the majors. His beard, on the other hand, is in mid-season form. Wilson has resorted to wearing a rubber band in order to keep his prodigious facial hair in check.

A razor company has decided that Wilson could use a shave and has made a lucrative offer to the outlandish hurler; they will pay him over $1 million in order to shave his beard, according to Radar.

"His management feels we need to match his present salary of $1 million at a minimum," co-founder of 800Razors.com Philip Masiello told Radar. "We have been in discussions with his management at MVP sports to finalize terms under which Brian would participate in a beard shaving promotion and endorsement."

Dodger fans who were interested in seeing what their pitcher's cheeks look like are in for a disappointment, Wilson is not going to shave. Ever. Wilson told his agent that the beard is "going with him to the grave," according to TMZ.

TMZ reports that Wilson's beard issued the following statement: "I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH MONEY'S ON THE TABLE . . . NOBODY'S CUTTING ME!"

Wilson has had a history of doing outlandish things. In multiple interviews he has made reference to "The Machine," a reference to the movie "8MM" and a character who was clad in bondage gear. In an interview with Jim Rome Wilson pulled out a cell phone from the 1980s and had a conversation with "The Machine."
