Miranda Lambert had no choice but to cancel Thursday's show because of problems with her vocal chords. The 31-year-old country star was set to perform tonight at Calgary Stampede in Canda, but due to "serious inflammation" of her vocal chords and orders from her physician, she has to reschedule the concert, according to E! News.

The venue's Facebook page announced the news with a statement from Lambert. "I'm so sorry that I can't be at Stampede this week," she said. "But I'll be back in Calgary just as soon as I can for all my Stampede fans."

"We understand that this news is disappointing for fans," Calgary Stampede's Chief Operating Officer Paul Rosenberg said. "We will know more about rescheduling the concert later; in the meantime, we hope that fans use their tickets for admission to Stampede and enjoy all that we have to offer-including live country music at Nashville North." Their current tickets will allow them free single-admission access to Stampede Park between July 8 and July 12. They will also be able to use these tickets for Lambert's show, which will take place at a different date and time.

Fans and ticket holders were shocked when they heard the news because just 10 hours earlier, Lambert had posted a message to her Facebook asking fans in attendance to send in photos so she could display them on the big screen during one of her songs, according to People.

"Hey Calgary! Are you coming to the show on Thursday, July 9?" the post read. "You could get your photo on the screen during 'All Kinds of Kinds' by following these simple steps at https://allkinds.me/"

After she received the devastating news, she wrote another post to her Facebook thanking her fans for understanding.

"I can't believe this is happening," she wrote. "I am sure most of you heard the news about the show in Calgary having to be rescheduled due to my vocal issues. Thanks for all your posts and well wishes, I promise I will do everything to get better quickly!"

The rescheduled date for the concert is to be determined.
