It happened while Nicole Elliot, 24-year-old mom from Georgia, was browsing on Facebook. She noticed a post from Animal Ark, a nonprofit rescue home for orphaned animals, showing the before and after grooming photos of Chester. "I was scrolling through, and saw a post with a before and after picture. I had to think hard about if I could handle this since I have a young daughter, and my Grandma just passed away. I slept on it, and woke up knowing it was the right thing to do. I knew that it would be my responsibility to make his final days the best I could. I arrived before the shelter opened, and they let me in to get him. I fell in love the moment I saw him," said Nicole to Columbus's local news station.

Chester, a 13-year-old dog with terminal cancer was dropped off by his owners at the Animal Ark in April. With a little faith and a dash of happy dust, Nicole Elliot and her daughter have decided to make Chester's last days the happiest days of his life. "So far he took a ride with the windows down, he had a famous Nathans hot dog, he had a doggie sundae, he had a milk and oatmeal bath (spa day), he went on a shopping spree where he got a cozy bed, bandannas, lots of treats, and toys," said Elliot, according to WVTM.

To further help Chester and rescue other senior and sickly animals, Animal Ark set-up an online fundraiser at YouCaring. So far, it has raised $6,935.
