Disgraced TV chef Paula Deen has fired her social media manager and immediately apologized to her fans. This comes hours after a tweet with a picture of her son Bobby Dean dressed up as the Ricky Ricardo character with brown face was posted on her official Twitter account and received an overwhelmingly negative response from users, as reported by HNGN.

Jaret Keller, Deen's spokesperson, said that the social media manager was the one who posted the photo of Deen and her son, which was for a 2011 episode of her show "Paula's Best Dishes."

"Paula immediately had this picture taken down as soon as she saw the post and apologizes to all who were offended. As such, Paula Deen Ventures has terminated their relationship with this Social Media Manager," said Keller, according to the Washington Post.

In the photo, Deen and son Bobby are dressed as characters from the show "I Love Lucy" with the latter sporting skin-darkening makeup.

"Paula immediately had this picture taken down as soon as she saw the post and apologizes to all who were offended," Deen's representatives told People.

The queen of Southern cooking has struggled to rebuild her career after she became embroiled in a racial controversy when she admitted to using a racial slur "a very long time ago" during a deposition in a civil case in 2013.

The deposition saw her being dropped by the Food Network and numerous sponsors.
