At one point in the All Star Game voting the American League was slated to have eight Kansas City Royals in the starting lineup. Now the only issue for the MLB is substituting two of the game's top players due to recent injuries.

Fans of the AL can let out a huge sigh of relief. Even though it's still a lot, only four Kansas City Royals earned a spot in the 2015 All Star Game. And no, one of them is not Omar Infante, who was posting some of the worst numbers in the MLB this season.

Here are the lineups for the AL and NL with notes regarding some of the players.

American League

C - Salvador Perez (Kansas City Royals)

1B - Miguel Cabrera (Detroit Tigers)

2B - Jose Altuve (Houston Astros)

3B - Josh Donaldson (Toronto Blue Jays)

SS - Alcides Escobar (Kansas City Royals)

OF - Mike Trout (Los Angeles Angels)

OF - Lorenzo Cain (Kansas City Royals)

OF - Alex Gordon (Kansas City Royals)

DH - Nelson Cruz (Seattle Mariners)

*Perez had the biggest gap between him and the runner-up for his position, Toronto Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin. Perez won by over six million votes.

*Donaldson was the leading vote-getter among every All Star candidate and set a new all-time single-season record with over 14 million votes.

*Miguel Cabrera will not be starting in this year's event after suffering a left calf strain and landing on the disabled list for the first time in his career.

*This is the first time since 1999 that a member of the New York Yankees was not voted in as a starter for the All Star Game.

National League

C - Buster Posey (San Francisco Giants)

1B - Paul Goldschmidt (Arizona Diamondbacks)

2B - Dee Gordon (Miami Marlins)

3B - Todd Frazier (Cincinnati Reds)

SS - Jhonny Peralta (St. Louis Cardinals)

OF - Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals)

OF - Giancarlo Stanton (Miami Marlins)

OF - Matt Holliday (St. Louis Cardinals)

*Stanton will not be playing in the Midsummer Classic after suffering a broken hamate bone in his hand.

*Holliday is still on the disabled list, but according to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com, the veteran plans to play barring a setback.

*Frazier will be the only Cincinnati Red starting in front of the crowd at the Great American Ballpark.

*Harper amassed 13,864,950 votes and Stanton was the next closest outfielder to him with 7,036,537.

This was the first year the MLB made the All Star balloting fully electronic and the results weren't as bad as previously expected. Commissioner Rob Manfred said changes could be made to avoid the whole Royals' fiasco, but it ended up not being as big an issue.
