Diana Douglas, the ex-wife of Kirk Douglas and the mother of Michael Douglas, has passed away at the age of 92.

The actress' death was caused by cancer and she died peacefully at her home in Woodland Hills, Calif. Her death was confirmed by Michael's production company Furthur Films, which cited her husband, Donald A. Webster.

There have been conflicting reports about the actual date of her death, with other sources reporting that she died on Friday while others said she died on Saturday, the New York Times reported.

Diana Douglas was born Diana Love Dill on January 1923 in Devonshire, Bermuda, where her father worked there as an attorney general. The actress met her first husband Kirk Douglas when they were both students at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Kirk and Diana married in 1943 and divorced in 1951. Diana gave birth to Michael in 1944 who was followed by Joel, who works as a producer, in 1947.

The actress then married fellow actor Bill Darrid in 1956 then Donald A Webster following Darrid's death, according to Variety.

Diana made her film debut in the 1942 film "Keeper of the Flame," which starred Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn after she moved to California and signed a contract with Warner Bros.

Her TV credits include "Naked City," "Flipper," "Kung Fu," "Barnaby Jones," "Cagney & Lacey," "Dynasty," Knots Landing," "The West Wing" and "ER" and she had a recurring role on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" as Martha Evans from 1977 to 1982. Her last known feature film appearance was in 2003 with "It Runs In The Family," in which she starred alongside her ex-husband Kirk, son Michael and grandson Cameron Douglas, according to CNN.

A memorial service will be held in Los Angeles.
