Nearly 12 months ago, Google introduced the app Field Trip for Android users and Apple iOS devices. Though proven to be a very helpful tool when going to some places of interest in unfamiliar places, it hasn’t gained much popularity by any means. However, things may change now that Google had integrated it with Google Glass for a virtual trip experience.

Field Trip app will provide you with a virtual tour guide of kinds that fit your field of vision.

The information and details the app “Field Trip” supplies varies from reviews of nearby restaurants or food chains to historical facts and stories about a specific location. “Field Trip,” just like Google Now depends on the place where you are in at the moment of search to be able to give you the most important and practical data and information.

The app can be viewed as closely similar or a sort of an extension of Google Now. However, it only robotically gives you information and data about places or tourist spots near you.

The vice president of Niantic Labs at Google, John Hanke, is one of the people who led the way in the development of the app “Field Trip,” and he made the app to work with Google Glass purposely, so the app is naturally a local component of Google Glass and should go along well with the headwear. He said that viewing data and information through Glass is less disturbing because it keeps your sight free and that you could actually peek through things in front of you.

Conversely, “Field Trip” won’t be of much assistance when you use it locally, but if you are on the road, traveling to different cities or places that you are unfamiliar with, Google’s “Field Trip” can be of service to you and Google Glass is now even more helpful than ever with this new addition.
