Kevin Love will re-sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers in free agency. The unrestricted free agent penned a piece on The Player's Tribune announcing his decision.

Love has Long said that his desire is to remain with Cleveland, despite the rumored frosty relationship between him and LeBron James and his awkward fit in the team's offensive system this past season. Some believes these issues would lead to a free agent departure, possibly to the Los Angeles Lakers. But the allure of championship basketball was too much for Love to ignore.

"Yeah, of course I've heard the free agency rumors," Love wrote. "But at the end of the day, and after meeting with my teammates (it turns out pools are great meeting places) and with the front office, it was clear Cleveland was the place for me. We're all on the same page and we're all in. We have unfinished business and now it's time to get back to work."

Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com reports that Love will sign a maximum five-year, $110 million contract to remain with James, Kyrie Irving and the Cavs.

Love averaged 16.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and shot 37 percent from 3-point range in 75 regular season games for the Cavs this past season. He suffered a shoulder injury in Cleveland's first-round victory over the Boston Celtics that sidelined him for the remainder of the post-season.
