Kendra & Hank Scandal: ‘I Brought Pain Upon This Family’

Hank Baskett finally opened up about the 2014 sex scandal that nearly cost him his marriage to Kendra Wilkinson and his family. Last year, Baskett was the center of a cheating scandal that claimed he engaged in sexual acts with a transgender model, all while his wife was eight months pregnant.

"I messed up," the ex-football player told People magazine. "I put myself in a bad situation. And everything through me brought pain upon this family." Hank said he "did not engage in anything," but he is not completely faultless either.

Last April, Baskett said he encountered a couple in a grocery store parking lot who were smoking marijuana. He approached them and asked where he could buy some pot. The couple gave him a phone number to call, and he was given an address. When Hank went to the house he saw something he never thought he would see, a transgender woman making out with another transgender woman. One of the women approached Hank and fondled him though his basketball shorts.

"I didn't engage in anything," he said. "It was like a bank robbery. You never know when you'll freeze. I don't know if it was a couple of seconds or 15 seconds, because all I was saying was get out, get out, get out." Baskett was so humiliated by the whole situation he never could never tell anyone the truth about what happened, until the story broke.

Upon hearing the news, Kendra flipped out and even flushed her wedding rings down the toilet. When the ex-football player finally opened up to his wife she was understanding and sympathetic. "Hank was very naïve and gullible," Wilkinson said. "He thinks everybody is his friend. That led him to the hell that we've lived."

Now after months of couples therapy and a stint on "Marriage Boot Camp," the couple is focused on moving on. With the secret finally out, "I have a huge weight lifted off my shoulders," said Baskett. "I feel extremely free."
