Add Macy's to the list of brands breaking up with real-estate mogul Donald Trump.

The department store announced their split with Trump after 700,000 people signed an online petition asking the company to do so, according to Business Insider.

Trump has been under fire since he said Mexican immigrants are "rapists," "have lots of problem(s)" and bring drugs to the United States during his Republican presidential nominee announcement speech last month.

At the heart of Macy's decision was that the company "stands for diversity" and strongly disagrees with Trump's statements about Mexican and Latino immigrants.

"We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico," Macy's announced in Wednesday morning's statement. "We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation.

"In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy's values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy's since 2004."

At the time of publishing, the MoveOn.org petition calling for Macy's to end its professional relationship with Trump has 729,137 signatures. According to the petition, Macy's agreements with Trump is a "special deal."

"Macy's has a special deal with Donald Trump. Trump is their de facto spokesperson," the petition explains. "They invest in developing Trump's brand, promote him in advertising, and sell his clothing line and fragrance at their locations. In the past, they have held major Trump-focused events at Macy's Herald Square."

The former star and host of the reality show "The Apprentice" parted ways with the NBC last month after the network decided to not air Univision's Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
