Our favorite Beverly Hills socialites from the '90s will finally be hitting the stage! After years of rumors, it has been confirmed that "Clueless: The Musical" is actually happening!

It's been 20 years since the film "Clueless" was in theaters. Now its director and writer, Amy Hecklering, officially announced that the popular movie will be made into a Broadway show. "I've written the... book, and it's a jukebox musical," she told Entertainment Tonight.

The highly-anticipated show will be produced by Dodger Theatricals, known for "Jersey Boys" and "Into the Woods," and it will be directed by Kristin Hanggi, who also directed "Rock of Ages."

Heckerling didn't have much to say about what exactly the "musical" part of the show would entail, but she does realize how hard it will be to find the perfect cast.

"Well casting—that's, like, going to be, like, the main problem," she admitted.

Last year, when Heckerling first announced she was in the very early stages of creating the Broadway musical, Katy Perry revealed an interest in playing the lead, Cher. "I love her to death," said Heckerling, according to Rolling Stone.

"Maybe Iggy [Azalea] would do it!," she also suggested, mainly because of the singer's epic"Fancy" video, which has major "Clueless" references.

In the 1995 movie, Alicia Silverstone played Cher. The actress recently reflected on the movie, as its 20-year anniversary approaches, and still can't believe its popularity today, according to the New York Daily News.

"I love when older people, grandparents, tell me they love the movie," she said. "That's very odd and wonderful, and then little people who are just discovering it now. It's just being passed on. It's timeless, even though it captured that time so well."

It is unclear when the Broadway adaptation will open.
