Nick Jonas and Olivia Culpo have remained quiet since their recent breakup after dating for two years. The pop star, 22, finally broke his silence for the first time to E! News on Thursday.

"I wish the best for her in the future," Jonas, who added that he and Culpo are still friends, said.

Jonas did not go into details about what caused the break up with the 23-year-old model, but he told E! that the pair had "a great two years together."

Even though he is single for the first time in years, Jonas did say he was not in a hurry to start a new relationship.

"I don't know, it's too early," Nick said. "I'm focused on my work and that, to me, is the priority right now."

Culpo, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2012, posted a cryptic message to her Instagram account last week which read, "Your heart just breaks, that's all. Heartbreak is hard but you find more and more things to be grateful for every day. One of those things is all of you. Thank you all. Yes I'm going to be okay and I love u guys so so much every day is a blessing."
