A family's dream home in Westfield, N.J. has turned into a massive nightmare after they received mysterious letters from someone named "the Watcher," forcing them to flee.

The couple and the three children, who requested anonymity, started to receive letters from the aforementioned unknown person or entity on June 5, three days after they closed on the house.

The couple intend to sue the previous owners of the house for their failure to warn them about "the Watcher," according to Courthouse News Service

"The Watcher" states in the first letter detailed in the courthouse documents filed by the couple that "the property had been the subject of my family for decades" and that he/she was "put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming."

"Have they found what is in the walls yet? In time they will," another letter reads. "I am pleased to know your names and the names now of the young blood you have brought to me."

The letter continues: "Will the young bloods play in the basement. Who has the rooms facing the street? I'll know as soon as you move in. It will help me to know who is in which bedroom then I can plan better."

The letters were enough to make them decided not to move into their new home, fearing for the safety of their children.

The family is now in the process of selling their house, but they revealed in their complaint that they "are having trouble selling the home as interested parties, once notified of the letters, no longer view the property as a safe home," according to People.

Westfield Mayor Andy Skibitsky even mentioned the issue during Tuesday night's Town Council meeting, CBS New York reported

"Our police department conducted an exhaustive investigation based on the factual circumstances and evidence available," Skibitsky said.
