A three-month-old puppy was wandering the streets of India when she came across an area of road construction. The curious pup got stuck in a thick layer of tar, according to Animal Aid Unlimited's YouTube channel, and was unable to stand or move.

Luckily for the tar-covered puppy, a little boy came along and pulled the dog from the black, sticky mess and Animal Aid Unlimited was called in. The puppy's fur was massaged with vegetable oil that helped loosen the tar. Rescue staffers then gave the little dog a nice soapy bath. In order to get all the tar out of the puppy's fur, the whole process had to be repeated four times.

But, as you can see by the puppy's reaction to being tar-free, it was well worth the hours it took.

A former stray from Puerto Rico named Valentina had tar poured over her, according to Life with Dogs. Rescuers from Alianza Pro Rescate Animales were luckily there for Valentina.

Thank you to all the animal lovers who help out the puppies and Valentina's of the world!
