That embarrassing half-court basketball shot you might have seen actor Will Ferrell miss and send to a stuntwoman posed as a New Orleans' Pelicans' cheerleader - even hitting her and sending her to the hardwood- was all part of filming for scene for Ferrell's comedy "Daddy's Home," according to a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"...People thought I actually snuck drunk onto a basketball court. People wanted me to be sued for my actions," Ferrell told the TV program.

"When Will first came out and did it, obviously people were shocked. A lot of people thought it was real," Ferrell's co-star Mark Wahlberg also told Entertainment Tonight about the spectacle.

"They thought it was real ball," Ferrell said. "They didn't realize that that was a paid professional stuntwoman I hit in the face with a practice, not a real ball."

Even Ferrell was fascinated by the stuntwoman's ability to make a completely set-up and pretend event seem absolutely real.

"That was incredible. We had six minutes to shoot that. We got two full takes and the crowd was amazed they didn't know what was going to happen. They just were told I was going to try to make a half-court shot," Ferrell said.

Catch "Daddy's Home" in theaters Dec. 25, according to IMDb.com.
