Actress Katherine Heigl sounded off on the shocking death on "Grey's Anatomy" and finally addressed rumors of her possible return to the show, Us Weekly reports.

Heigl sat down with "Entertainment Tonight" during promotional interviews for her upcoming indie film "Jackie and Ryan." She was asked her opinion on the shocking death and departure of Patrick Dempsey's character, Dr. Derek Shepherd, aka McDreamy, from the show.

"I just can't even imagine the show without McDreamy," she told Entertainment Tonight. "I just can't! It's so hard to picture."

She also finally addressed rumors that her character, Dr. Izzie Stevens, would make a return during season 12 of the hit series.

"There is not, I'm sorry," she said quickly, when asked if there was any truth behind the rumors.

Heigl appeared on the show since its inception in 2005 until her character was written off in 2010, after reports of her clashing with the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes. Heigl regrets the rift with her former boss, according to TV Guide.

But she has nothing but nice words to say about the show that she credits with changing her career.

"It was just an incredible experience for me," she said. "It changed the course of my life and my career, and I couldn't be more grateful. I just hope it goes for as long as they all want it to."

"Jackie and Ryan" is set for a July 3 release. See the full Entertainment Tonight interview below.
